The Swinging Spetsnaz Infrared Anorak

I am the fifth result on Yahoo! for “spetsnaz anorak”. I am also the 13th result on Google for princess diana assassination. And why on earth am I getting referrals from www.about-swinging.co.uk/wife-swapping-yorkshire.html? (I’ve no idea whether the link is SFW, because I’m at work and don’t dare click on it.) They seem to head for my archives for September, 2003. Most strange. I’m also the 15th Google for improvised explosive device infrared triggers.

This, incidentally, is a list of the top 40 search requests:

Update: Chris Lightfoot has this to say: The “wife swapping” referrer is presumably referrer spam — many sites automatically post URLs of referring pages (e.g. as a list of recent searches finding the site), so spammers can manipulate this to advertise their site simply by making requests to your site with a “Referer: url-of-spam-site” header.

What a disappointment.
